Roagna "Pira" Barolo, Piedmont, Italy

Roagna is Piedmont royalty.  Better known for their Barbaresco bottlings, but 2016 is the year of Barolo.  These wines have incredible lift and such complex aromatics.  A wine of true beauty.  Has decades of life ahead of it, but will be incredibly enjoyable now.  Would benefit greatly from a decant.  Roagna purchased Cascina Pira in Castiglione Falletto in 1989 and has been producing this bottling ever since.  Classic style of production.  Very low intervention.  Enjoy with our Braised Short Ribs!
