La Jota Vineyard Co. Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, California

Cabernet from Howell Mountain and there is no mistaking it as anything else.  BIG.  Chewy tannins.  Loads of black fruits.  Cassis, blackberry, and currants.  You can usually pick out a mountain Cabernet Sauvignon by their massive tannins and freshness and this wine is the epitomy of those hallmarks.  Needs to be decanted.  Give it a few swirls in the decanter and a little time to calm down.  If you want to pair this wine with dinner hopefully we are running a chef's special with lamb or a richer cut of beef.
