Jean-Paul et Charly Thevenet "Grain & Granit", Regnie, Beaujolais, Burgundy, FR

Jean-Paul and his son Charly head this "Gang of Four" estate in Morgon.  Pushed to make natural and organic wines by childhood friend Marcel Lapierre, Jean-Paul began in this style in the early 80's far before the rest of the world caught on.  This Regnie bottling is from some vineyards that Jean-Paul's son Charly purchased in neighboring Regnie that were planted in 1932 and 1946.  This wine shows more perfume and finesse than their Morgon bottling.  Whole cluster in concrete.
