Jean-Paul et Charly Thevenet "Grain & Granit", Regnie, Beaujolais, Burgundy, FR

Jean-Paul and his son Charly head this "Gang of Four" estate in Morgon.  Pushed to make natural and organic wines by childhood friend Marcel Lapierre, Jean-Paul began in this style in the early 80's far before the rest of the world caught on.  This Regnie bottling is from some vineyards that Jean-Paul's son Charly purchased in neighboring Regnie that were planted in 1932 and 1946.  This wine shows more perfume and finesse than their Morgon bottling.  Whole cluster in concrete.  Pair with Roasted Vegetable Flatbread.
