Chateau Musar "Jeune" Red Wine, Bekaa Valley, Lebanon
$63.00Price
There are 6,000 years of winemaking history in the Bekaa Valley of Lebanon. Chateau Musar's history begins in 1930 when the estate was founded by Gaston Musar. His son Serge took over the winemaking role in 1959 after studying oenology in Bordeaux. Serge refused to abandon the vineyards and winery during the 15 years of civil war between 1975 and 1990, only losing two vintages to the war. These wines are some of the most discussed and analyzed on a world stage. Serge passed away in 2014 and the wines are now made by his eldest son Gaston. "Jeune" is a blend of Cinsault, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Fruit dominates. Cherry and black currants. Naturally inspires thoughts of the Languedoc. Pair with Braised Short Ribs!
